Union Multicultural Latino-Americana has established a Latino Youth Award to merit excellence and to recognize and honor the achievements of our young people  in academics, sports, arts, science, community involvement, leadership. The purpose of the award is to inspire Latino adolescents in our community by providing a financial award to be used for educational purposes in combination with mentorships.

UMLA acknowledges the importance of maintanining cultural heritage and the advantages resulting from families assimilating into life in the United States.  For this reason, our Organization hopes to provide encouragement to Latino families in the Maryland and DC Metropolitan Area by providing opportunities for academic cultural and health related enrichment activities in addition to its Youth Awards.
