Union Multicultural Latino-Americana has established a Latino Youth Award to recognize and honor the achievements of young people in our community.The purpose of the award is to merit academic excellence and to inspire Latino adolescents by providing a financial award to be used for educational purposes in combination with mentorships.

UMLA acknowledges the importance of maintanining cultural heritage and the advantages resulting from families assimilating into life in the United States.  For this reason, our Organization hopes to provide encouragement to Latino families in the Maryland and DC Metropolitan Area by providing opportunities for academic cultural and health related enrichment activities in addition to its Youth Awards.
